Hello, normally when asked to provide a feedback I respond very quickly because there is typically not much to say other than saying we've received good service. However, in case of Mike Taylor I had to take time and write this feedback because simply saying 'he provided good service' would be an injustice. Mike was more than just a service provider. He was an advisor and a friend too. Normally when we provide specs we expect the developer to run with the specs, deliver something under budget and wash their hands. But Mike ensured that he understood our goals with the website, read the specs inside out and suggested several excellent suggestions. This tells me one thing - he is passionate about his work. Mike's service did not end there. He was always quick in responding to emails and was always available on Skype for quick chat. Communication mattered the most because we were in different geographic locations. As we are now launching the site, I thought it would be a good time to reflect and give feedback on the team I worked with for a few months. This is also my first project with HB, so it is also somewhat related to HB in general form my own perspective. As always, starting out is a bit tough, I had a difficult time explaining myself to the team and building a common understanding of the goals and milestones. I took about a month, and I take most of the responsibility since the idea was not yet well formed and also I had very little technical documentation to start us off. From HB side I felt a high degree of responsiveness by involving also John Allen & Hemal in order to bring us to the finish line of having a specification and common understanding. Working with Himanshu that month was very intensive, and I felt he did his best with a lot of patience to succeed. If I need to find one problem here, I think it was the over-emphasis initially on the web-site front-end instead of deeply understanding the concept that I was trying to build (SSJS). After that was understood by Himanshu we raced forward.

Team forming and management by Himanshu and the rest was excellent, I felt immediately the rush of work and the daily progress. We had a pretty good plan and we tried to have a weekly review on our progress against that plan. I also enjoyed the daily status/progress reports that really helped me track the team and participate/comment in the right places. In general, it was very effective type of work with the team. I felt the team had the right motivation and leadership and made good progress, so I could focus more on specific questions they had. While some issues needed my attention, 95% of them were not technical - I felt the team had great technical ability. Where I did feel a little weakness, and I'm still worried in that respect is the issue of security. Some of the proposals made along the way were very risky in terms of security against malicious/incompetent outside developers or users. I am sure even now we may still have some vulnerabilities in our code related to user data, user impersonation, etc. I felt the level of RoR proficiency was very high. SSJS knowledge needed building and we had the good fortune to find a good tool (node.js), if we had to build everything from scratch I fear the timetables would not have been met.

The team did quite a few studies of tooling and services at different stages of the project, I felt those were conducted professionally with an open mind. Where I did see some gaps initially was in the part of integrated project tracking, issue tracking,etc. This was handled by using the RedMine product during the project. I think this type of solution should be standard on every project to have a central place to see the code, documents, issues, etc. and not rely on hundreds of mails with many attachments, versions, etc. Finally, I am very happy with the final result inc. scope, time, budget & quality. I think it is done well, w/o resorting to needless crisis modes and pressure. From the team I felt excitement and enjoyment to work on the specific project which was really great to see. I am trying to convince others to try your services and plan to continue working with you in the future.Thanks!

Thanks for pushing Dave and Sachin to work faster (not that they need any push at all - both are great!!).We (Offset4Poor) have been working with Hidden Brains for over 18 months now. I've completed a detailed feedback of your service, as provided below:

1. Mpowered is an online social media venture that allows its users to distribute digital advertising funds from corporate sponsors as a donation to partner not-for-profit organizations (NFPs) in a crowdsourced manner. 

2. I came across HB through a Google search for social media website developers.

3. I had a good first impression with HB, as I initially sent an email requesting additional information and received a prompt reply.

4. The sales team promptly emailed me a contract outlining the details of the project and payment requirements. However I eventually did commit, it was for 4 milestones defined for the project cost, which was much more comfortable structure for me.

On a side note, the initial project time frame was 4 weeks. In actuality, the project took over 8 weeks. Based on past projects, I'm aware that the time frames initially outlined are hardly ever met. However, for future projects that may be time critical, I'd expect the proposed time frame to be upheld.

5. The developer was competent and well-skilled. He worked quite quickly on implementing my requests, and gave me significant creative input on overcoming issues. However, at times I felt a bit of a lack of initiative on certain aspects, such as proactively communicating to me or 3rd party providers when attempting to overcome a roadblock. This delayed the development process. However, overall I was pleased with my developer and was impressed with the final product he created for me. 

6. I was pleased with the professionalism exhibited by all HB employees I dealt with. The final product was completed with high degree of quality. Throughout my dealings with HB, I felt that my needs were totally catered to, and mutually collaborative options were offered for any minor issue. Overall, it was quite pleasant to work with HB employees, and the unique combination of skill and service particularly stands out for me. I will definitely consider HB for any future website development.

Our company is a small privately owned corporation. We came across Hidden brains through an extensive search through the internet looking for aggresive programmers who could meet our requirements. We identified 2 different companies. We were impressed by the level of professionalism of the sales team. Hidden Brains provided a scope of works, implementation plan and an estimated cost of the project. The other company did not. It was very easy to identify the winning bid. Definitely Hidden Brains!!! Interaction with the developer was fairly consistent. I found the designer to be pretty good with the design and development of the website. I did find that coming towards the end of the project, the developer was not as accommodating with all of the changes requested. However, what I did appreciate was their ability and reliabilty when it came down to the deliverables.
